WEST CARLETON – Football season is around the corner and the West Carleton Wolverines Football Club starts preparing this weekend (March 6) with the beginning of a series of free football-themed winter workouts.

ARNPRIOR – Last Saturday (Feb. 19), the West Carleton Rivermen scored the most goals in one game the Eastern Ontario Super Hockey League (EOSHL) has seen in its two-season history.

ARNPRIOR – While the Frontenac Phantoms (3-10-0) may be at the bottom of the Eastern Ontario Super Hockey League (EOSHL) West Division standings, the game does have some meaning for the West Carleton Rivermen (10-5-1).

CARP – The first games of the West Carleton Outdoor Hockey League (WCOHL) were held almost two weeks ago under perfect conditions – super-duper freezing cold.

ARNPRIOR – The West Carleton Rivermen’s first Eastern Ontario Super Hockey League (EOSHL) regular season game since the COVID shutdown was a 5-2 statement win against the hottest team in the league.

ARNPRIOR – The West Carleton Rivermen will re-start their march to the Eastern Ontario Super Hockey League (EOSHL) playoffs Saturday, Feb. 5 in their home barn, in a now slightly shortened regular season.

WEST CARLETON – When you’re dealing with the unpredictability of winter weather, add in the unpredictability of the COVID-19 pandemic, while organizing an outdoor hockey league requires pivots as fast as the ones used by the players on the ice.

DUNROBIN – A brother and sister team who grew up in West Carleton are on their way to the Winter Olympic games in Beijing this February.

ARNPRIOR – The West Carleton and the 11 other Eastern Ontario Super Hockey League (EOSHL) are working on a plan that will allow them to finish a season just past the halfway mark when the latest COVID-19 provincially mandated lockdown hit.
