Shamrocks go back-to-back as Hockey Day in Corkery champs

Special to WC Online

CORKERY – The Shamrocks make it two in a row as Hockey Day in Corkery champions.

Hockey Day was great fun again this year, with perfect weather and terrific ice. Seven teams participated in the 4-on-4 tournament with the Shamrocks coming away with the championship for the second year in a row.

Organizers wish to thank everyone that helped make it a success again this year – especially the rink flooders who did a great job getting it back in shape after rain the Wednesday before. Special thanks to Jurgen Lugwig who played nets all day and Chris Connor, who would have if his knee had held up. Extra special thanks to Sarah Ludwig, Krystle Kluke, and Chris Connor (again!) for making chili. Much appreciated!

If you were or weren’t at the Tourney and have comments or questions about how it was run or anything you’d like to see done differently for next year’s version, or if you have questions about the rink in general, please send an email to Andrew McIsaac.
