GLOUCESTER – The West Carleton U18 Crusaders dominated the eighth annual Capital Volunteer Cup last weekend (Oct. 28 – 30) going undefeated to hoist the cup.

ARNPRIOR – It was an important 5-4 win for the Arnprior Rivermen last Saturday (Oct. 22) getting the team back to .500; in to the playoffs; and a win at home before heading on the road this weekend in Eastern Ontario Super Hockey League (EOSHL) action.

CARP – The kick-off to the West Carleton curling season got underway in Carp over Thanksgiving weekend with the Huntley Curling Club (HCC) welcoming back returning members and inviting new curlers to come out and give the sport a try.

ARNPRIOR – The Arnprior Rivermen (1-2-0) had no trouble filling the net Saturday (Oct. 15) afternoon in the Bert Hall Arena but couldn’t secure the win losing to the Gananoque Islanders (3-0-0) 10-9 in overtime in Eastern Ontario Super Hockey League (EOSHL) action.

ARNPRIOR – The Arnprior Rivermen won one and lost one in an Eastern Ontario Super Hockey League (EOSHL) doubleheader weekend and now find themselves looking up in their division.

SCOTTSDALE, AZ – Former National Hockey Defenceman and Carp native Kurtis Foster is back in the world’s best hockey league as a development coach for the Phoenix Coyotes.

FITZROY HARBOUR – At the age of 72, Fitzroy Harbour powerlifter Judy Gravel took home the gold at the Can-Am Games in Windsor last July.

ARNPRIOR – The Rivermen dropped the puck for real last Saturday (Sept. 24) as the Eastern Ontario Super Hockey League (EOSHL) kicked off season number three.

FITZROY HARBOUR – It took days to complete and 51 runs to declare a champion, but Bren Electric are the Harbour Ball champions for the second year in a row.

BILLINGS BRIDGE – Team Frlan, the competitive U18 curling team based out of the Huntley Curling Club, is starting the season off right, winning the first tournament of the season.
