CARP – The Huntley Curling Club (HCC) created the President’s Challenge Cup bonspiel in 2020, and fittingly has won it all three times four small, Ottawa Valley curling clubs have got together to battle for the prestigious trophy.

CARP – What was another season of long hours and hard work by West Carleton’s outdoor ice makers and West Carleton Outdoor Hockey League (WCOHL) volunteers ended their season last Saturday (March 11) on the stress-free environs of indoor ice.

WEST CARLETON – Last summer, the 2022 U23 Canadian Fast Pitch Championship held in Carp was a hit for the community, bringing the country’s best fastball athletes to Carp for a thrilling week-long elite level tournament.

CONSTANCE BAY – It’s a nondescript garage on the Buckham’s Bay side of Bayview Drive. But inside the garage is the winning formula for West Carleton’s best kickboxers.

ARNPRIOR – Canada’s best Junior B hockey team is based in Arnprior, and Corkery’s Jake Duhn will be leading the team through the playoffs starting March 5 as the team’s historic season continues.

CARP – Thirteen-year-old Lilly Twining is heading to the Men’s World Curling Championship in Ottawa this April as one of the game’s Future Stars.

Rivermen comeback repeatedly in EOSHL playoffs

ARNPRIOR – It’s do or die time in the Eastern Ontario Super Hockey League (EOSHL) starting this Saturday (Feb. 18) for the Arnprior Rivermen, as they open round one of the playoffs against the Deseronto Bulldogs.

TIMMINS – First time national competitors, Huntley Curling Club’s (HCC) Team Frlan will end the Curling Canada U18 Championship with a 4-4 record.

RENFREW – It was the biggest stage 13-year-old Constance Bay resident Hunter Sim has ever played hockey on, and he rose to the occasion bringing home silver from the Ontario Winter Games (OWG) with the rest of his Ottawa Valley Titans AAA U14 teammates.
