CARP – Winter was celebrated all over Carp last Saturday (Feb. 29) as the Huntley Community Association (HCA) brought the seasonal celebration back from the cold.

WEST CARLETON – If you like breakfast for dinner, Shrove Tuesday (Feb. 25) is the best time of the year in West Carleton.

GALETTA – The councillor was a special guest of Monday’s (Feb. 24) Galetta Community Association (GCA) meeting and the topic was pickleball, among other things.

CARP – The music was rocking, and the sun was out making it a beautiful day for three-on-three shinny and raising money for a great cause.

CORKERY – When you own your own Zamboni, the sky’s the limit when building your backyard winter wonderland.

FITZROY HARBOUR – It’s a peaceful ski trail through a beautiful part of West Carleton maintained by a club enjoying its 27th year.

CONSTANCE BAY – Volunteer firefighter Ryan Littler battled the flood in 2017 and won. In 2019, the flood brought reinforcements in the form of a fire and won round two. Now it’s 2020 and thanks to friends, family and community, Littler and his family’s home will stand again.

FITZROY HARBOUR – It was a record-breaking start to the St. Michael’s Catholic Church fundraising euchre series which kicked off at the Fitzroy Harbour Community Centre last Saturday (Feb. 1).

FITZROY HARBOUR – Week three of the West Carleton Outdoor Hockey League (WCOHL) was Toque Day, but the weather cooperated Saturday (Feb. 1) morning and even the fans were able to be comfortable on the sidelines, Canadian head gear or no.

CORKERY – Volunteers across West Carleton are ecstatic to see some consistent cold weather this week. It means the blood, sweat and tears they have been pouring in to West Carleton’s outdoor rinks, won’t end up as a puddle of former ice by the end of the day.
