KINBURN – It was the Kinburn Seniors Association (KSA) annual Christmas luncheon and a large turnout of colourfully dressed seniors filled the Kinburn Community Centre to capacity.

FITZROY HARBOUR – A kids Christmas party and holiday shopping trip rolled in to one, made its return to the Fitzroy Harbour Community Centre Saturday (Dec. 3) and it was warmly welcomed back with a full house of tiny little arms.

CARP – Blake Sinclair has done a lot for the Huntley Curling Club (HCC) and curling in West Carleton, and last week CurlON, the sport’s provincial governing organization, honoured the former club president with the Curl Ontario Curling Community Hero Award.

CARP – The kids of Meadowridge Circle outdid themselves this year collecting a mass of food donations for the West Carleton Food Access Centre (WCFAC) so great, it must surely outweigh the young group charged with collecting it.

DUNROBIN – West Carleton Disaster Relief (WCDR) was born in an emergency and continues forward as a volunteer organization dedicated to helping its community survive and recover through what seems an increasingly more frequent number of natural disaster in the community.

FITZROY HARBOUR – Just a beautiful, unseasonably warm Saturday (Nov. 26) morning, the perfect day to hang out, go for a walk and clean up the neighbourhood.

KINBURN – Several hundred West Carleton residents dropped by the Kinburn Community Centre Saturday (Nov. 19) afternoon to say so long to retiring Ward 5 city councillor Eli El-Chantiry.

CARP – There wasn’t supposed to be a Remembrance Day service at the West Carleton War Memorial this year.

KANATA – Of 28 Kanata-Carleton residents honoured with the Platinum Jubilee Community Service Award last week (Nov. 7) more than a handful of them call West Carleton home.

CONSTANCE BAY – Something not seen in three years returned to the West Carleton Royal Canadian Legion’s Remembrance Day service last Saturday (Nov. 5) and something rarely seen at any Constance Bay service was present too – warm weather.
