Arnprior Fair on all weekend
ARNPRIOR – The Arnprior Fair kicks off today (Aug. 9).
Fair Board President Brad Runtz said this will be the last fair event held within Arnprior town limits.
Runtz is hoping for great attendance. He says gates opened at 4 p.m. today.
Activities include the Carter Show Midway, from 4-11 p.m. The first of two popular demolition derbies is tonight at 7 p.m.
All4One provides this evening’s entertainment in the beer tent area from 8 to 11 p.m. Papanack Zoo and the Farm Babies are a hit with the younger set from 4 to 7 p.m. The zoo is also expected to attract some protesters as well. Musical entertainment this year includes the Riley New Band perform on Friday night and Prism on Saturday night. My Broadcasting Corporation, parent company of Oldies 107.7/myFM, awarded a grant of $400 to the fair board to be used for Canadian musical acts at the fair. The Canadian Content Development grant is awarded yearly. Weekend Passes are $25 and include all rides on the midway as well as access to all events and entertainment. Kids under three are free.
