A-C’s on high at Carp’s first drive-in bingo

CARP – Oppressive heat? Hard on the hardcore Bingo player, but no problem when you can crank up the A-C.

The annual Carp Drive-In Bingo kicked off last night (July 4) on one of the hottest days of the year, but that didn’t stop hundreds of cars and even more people from doing the dab, honking in victory, enjoying an incredible barbecue and having a great night playing bingo.

The event is a highlight of summer in West Carleton, but is getting a reputation that is spreading beyond those borders.

Allison Usher, Sophie Usher, Mckenna Bebee and Marc Jade made the hike from Manotick to participate.

“We love it,” Sophie said.

It was Jade’s first time but the other three might even be termed regulars by now.

Even further away, Ann Boiteau travelled all the way from Calgary to join her sisters Julie and Diane for a family reunion, dabbers in hand.

Near or far, drive-in bingo should not be missed. And you haven’t. Drive-in bingo continues every Wednesday until Aug. 1. $10 is the cost to participate and parking is free.
