Expect great Friday for Branch 616’s Meals to Wheels dinner
By Jake Davies - West Carleton Online
CONSTANCE BAY – Even though it’s Good Friday (April 2) the volunteers at the West Carleton Royal Canadian Legion are making it a work day, ensuring the delicious Meals to Wheels take-out dinners are available once again to the community.
On Good Friday, volunteers will be serving a classic fish and chips dinner with dessert for pick-up at the Branch 616 on Albirch Road.
For $15, take-out diners will receive:
- Freshly cut potatoes turned in to some awesome fries, along with lightly battered fish;
- Lets add some coleslaw with that; and
- Top it off with a cheesecake parfait for dessert
“Come and support our Drive Thru pick-up at Branch 616, Constance Bay,” Sgt.-at-Arms Rob Gallant released in a statement. “This should be a good one. We are trying to have two meal pick-up times, one at 5:30 p.m. and the other group showing up at 6 p.m. We are doing this to try and keep everything as hot as possible because we don’t want you leaving with soggy Fish and Chips. Please provide your ideal pick-up time when placing your order. Get your orders in quickly because I believe this will not last long.”
To order contact Gallant at 613-859-4250 or Anita at 613-724-3551. The cut-off for orders is tonight (March 30).
Branch volunteers ask you wear your mask while picking up your order.
