Vandals use Bill Mason picnic tables for bonfire

DUNROBIN – A Thursday (March 19) evening bonfire has left the Bill Mason Centre a few picnic tables short.

An unknown number of people hosted an illegal bonfire on Bill Mason Centre property on March 19 and used nearby picnic tables to fuel their fire.

The Bill Mason Centre is a 77-acre outdoor classroom located just behind West Carleton Secondary School. The primary focus of this Ottawa-Carleton District School Board (OCDSB) educational facility is to provide active learning opportunities to elementary and secondary students to explore, experience, appreciate and learn about Ontario Curriculum in a beautiful natural setting.

The incident was reported to police and was cleaned up March 25.
