Snow roars back in to March starting at noon

WEST CARLETON – March is ending with lion-like action as Environment Canada is calling for up to 14 centimetres of snow starting today (March 25).

“Snow is forecast to begin near noon today,” Environment Canada released in a statement today. “The snow may become mixed with freezing rain or ice pellets at times this afternoon. Snow may change to or become mixed with rain tonight.”

So Environment Canada has issued a winter weather travel advisory in effect beginning this afternoon.

Snowfall amounts of seven to 14 cm is possible. There is a risk of freezing rain. Reduced visibility in heavy snow at times.

“Motorists should expect hazardous winter driving conditions and adjust travel plans accordingly,” Environment Canada said.
