Second OC Transpo driver tests positive for COVID-19

OTTAWA – A third OC Transpo employee has tested positive for COVID-19.

According to a memo released by Transportation Services general manager John Manconi Friday (April 10), the bus operator called in sick on April 1 and has not returned to work, remaining in self-isolation at home.

OC Transpo was notified of the positive test Wednesday (April 8).

The driver worked on five buses on March 27, 30 and 31 on the following routes:

• Route 88: Hurdman Station 6:53 to Terry Fox Station 8:03
• Route 88: Terry Fox Station 8:12 to Hurdman Station 9:31

OC Transpo says they are identifying vehicles and facilities that might require extra cleaning.

The transit authority reported a positive test for a bus operator on April 1 involving a driver who drove routes March 18-20.

On April 5, OC Transpo reported a red-vested O-Train Ambassador also tested positive for the virus.
