Hwy. 17 closed at Laurentian Hills

RENFREW COUNTY – A tractor-trailer crash has closed Hwy. 17 after its load of powered nickel hit the roadway.

The motor vehicle collision occurred around noon today (Aug. 1) when the truck rolled on to its side on the stretch of highway between Brouse Road and Bass Lake Road.

Local detours are in place and Highway 17 is expected to be closed until late afternoon, as police investigate and to allow for the removal of the truck and the spilled cargo.

The driver was not injured. Police would like to speak to any witnesses to the crash. If you can help, you’re asked to call the Upper Ottawa Valley Detachment of the OPP at 613-735-0188.
