CORKERY – A passerby signaled the alarm for firefighters as a structure fire ignited in Corkery yesterday (Feb. 18).
An eyewitness noticed black smoke coming from the living area of a structure at 4016 Old Almonte Road on Sunday. Firefighters from Ottawa Fire Service Station 84 in Corkery responded.
“First arriving fire fighters confirmed a working fire and began an offensive attack, but fire conditions forced defensive fire operations,” Public Information Officer Danielle Cardinal said in a statement.
At the time of the fire it was unknown if there were any occupants in the structure. There were no reported injuries.
OFS has dispatched an Ottawa Fire Investigator to look in to the blaze.
