CORKERY – This year’s Corkery Community Association’s (CCA) annual general meeting will focus on the exciting news of community centre renovation.

Last March, CCA President Katherine Woodward and Coun. Eli El-Chantiry announced the city was providing $1.5 million for a much-needed community centre renovation during the 2019 AGM. On March 3, the CCA will provide an update on the progress to date.

“You are invited to come to our AGM on March 3 at the Corkery Community Centre,” the CCA released in a statement. “We will be showing our new building expansion coming soon in 2021.”

There are some important board positions up for election as well.

“Also, we will be voting on our president, vice president, treasurer and secretary,” the CCA said. “You’re welcome to see our new board for the Corkery Community Association at 7 p.m.”

The CCA will also be hosting a family skate at the Community Centre’s outdoor rink.

“This year there will be family skate from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Family Day (Feb. 17), the CCA said. “Bring the kids but leave the sticks at home. The community centre will be open and supervised.
