WEST CARLETON – The West Carleton Wolverines U16 AA girls flag football team forgot how to lose in 2022, capping off a perfect season with a National Capital Amateur Football Association (NCAFA) championship.

FITZROY HARBOUR – Community members taking in the opening evening (July 7) of the Harbour Days festival were treated to an instant Greater Ottawa Fastball League game classic as it took the last swing of the bat to determine the winner between regional rivals the West Carleton Electric and Ottawa Valley A’s.

KINBURN – Last week (June 23 and 24) Stonecrest Elementary School (SES) hosted its two-day track and field meet, the last sporting event of the school year.

FITZROY HARBOUR – There are enough young fastball players in the West Carleton area to create a competitive team with lots of skill. But there are not quite enough fastball players in the area to create an under-17 fastball league.

KANATA – The West Carleton Secondary School (WCSS) Wolves junior girls soccer team went to Earl of March’s home turn last week (June 14) and brought home the National Capital Secondary School Athletic Association (NCSSA) championship trophy.

HAMILTON – It was the Hamilton Bulldogs biggest test of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) playoffs, but led by Carp’s Mason McTavish, the team passed with flying colours in game seven of the championship series against the Windsor Spitfires.

NEPEAN – The West Carleton Secondary School (WCSS) Wolves varsity girls flag football team went wire-to-wire without losing a game this season on the way to the National Capital Secondary School Athletic Association (NCSSAA) championship yesterday (June 13).

ARNPRIOR – Last weekend was the 2022 Eastern Ontario Super Hockey League (EOSHL) entry draft, and the Arnprior Rivermen are making sure several former Jr. B Arnprior Packers players have the chance to come back home.

MANOTICK – The West Carleton Electric had trouble silencing the bats of the opposition in Manotick last week (June 1) and lost both ends of a double-header.

CARP – The Huntley Curling Club’s (HCC) Team LIKE is officially graduation from U15 play and moving on to U18 competitive curling for the upcoming 2022-2023 curling season and are bringing in a new coach for the new chapter.
