CONSTANCE BAY – The 2023 West Carleton Outdoor Hockey League (WCOHL) season kicked off Saturday (Jan. 14) with perfect, cold conditions after what must have been a lot of shovelling the day before.

TWEED – The first game of 2023 was a win for the Arnprior Rivermen (8-6-1), defeating playoff rivals, the Tweed Oil Kings (8-5-1), 3-2 Jan. 7 at the Tweed Community Centre.

CARP – Last Saturday (Jan. 7) the West Carleton Crusaders U15 team battled regional rivals the Kanata Blazers in a game that highlights a much more serious battle, the fight against cancer.

RENFREW – Huntley Curling Club’s (HCC) U18 women’s club Team Frlan finished 2022 with a great result at the Canada Winter Games Trials, and the team will be busy in 2023 starting with the Ontario Winter Games.

BELLEVILLE – Carp native Joe Carroll is back with the Belleville Senators after signing a professional tryout offer, the team announced today (Dec. 16).

ANAHEIM — In his first full season in the National Hockey League (NHL) 19-year-old Carp native Mason McTavish is seeing his role grow as the season progressed for the Anaheim Ducks.

CARP – Roughly 275 hockey players took part in the Warrior Weekend hockey tournament, a tournament for house league players that don’t always get the chance to take part in these types of hockey experiences.

DESERONTO – The Arnprior Rivermen stretched their winning streak to three games last Saturday (Nov. 19) keeping the team in second position in a very tight Eastern Ontario Super Hockey League (EOSHL) West Division.

CARP – The CurlON Trillium Series wrapped up last weekend and Huntley Curling Club’s (HCC) Team Frlan has done enough to qualify for the U18 Provincial Curling Championships.
