WHITBY – Kinburn’s Scott Barton landed the biggest fish during the re-imagined, long weekend Swamp Donkey Challenge held Saturday and Sunday (Sept. 2, 3) in Whitby, ON.

ARNPRIOR – Senior A hockey kicks off on Arnprior Sept. 30 as the Rivermen open the season against the Eastern Ontario Super Hockey League’s (EOSHL) first dynasty.

KANATA – The National Capital Amateur Football Association (NCAFA) 2023 tackle football season kicked off Saturday (Jan. 29) and the West Carleton Wolverines went 2-1 over the weekend with the three age groups the football club has teams competing in.

CARP – The Stanley Cup came to Carp Saturday (Aug. 19) and it was brought there by a West Carleton native who now has his name etched on the greatest trophy in all sports for all eternity.

FREDERICTON – Three West Carleton Electric youth are part of the national bronze medal winning Napanee Express who just returned from Fredericton, NB, over the long weekend with some new jewelry.

MARKHAM – The U16 West Carleton Talons’ Ontario Cup tournament is over for 2023 after losing 3-0 to SC Jarvis in Markham, ON, last Saturday (July 29).

CARP – Saturday, July 15, the U16 West Carleton Talons made West Carleton soccer history winning their Round 2 Ontario Cup game at home and tomorrow (July 29) they continue their unprecedented quest to win the country’s oldest soccer club competition.

CARP – The inaugural Carp Shootout $7,000 fastball tournament held last week was a win for the ‘home’ team and a win for the organizers.

DUNROBIN – Dunrobin native Jake Bryson’s two-day effort in last week’s Professional Golfers’ Association (PGA) Tour Canada event was his biggest stage yet in his young professional career, and it happened on his home track.
