CARP – It was the Carp community’s turn to blow Santa away, filling two pick-up trucks with donations for the West Carleton Food Access Centre (WCFAC) as Carp Santa Claus Parade organizers put Plan B in to operation last night (Dec. 16) to salvage a fundraiser cancelled by Saturday’s windstorm.

ARNPRIOR – We’ve seen Fitzroy Harbour’s Syd Gravel tow cars, move tractors, lift more than 110,000 pounds in a single day, and last week (Dec. 8), the Valley strongman clean and jerked a really big cheque, right over to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute.

KINBURN – For the first time in two years the Kinburn Seniors Association (KSA) was able to celebrate the holidays in the fashion they were used to, following the return of the KSA Christmas luncheon held last Tuesday (Dec. 7).

FITZROY HARBOUR – It was a busy Saturday (Dec. 4) morning for the volunteer organizers of the Bethel-St. Andrew’s United Church Christmas Bazaar and Bake Sale.

DUNROBIN – It’s been a long time since any members of any of the Dunrobin Community Association’s (DCA) adaptive seasonal programming have been able to meet inside the community centre.

MARATHON VILLAGE – An unexpected trip to the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) for two-year-old Beau Joanisse may have changed his plans for All Hallows Eve, but thanks to the Kinburn and Marathon Village communities, didn’t cancel his first Hallowe’en.
