FITZROY HARBOUR – Just a beautiful, unseasonably warm Saturday (Nov. 26) morning, the perfect day to hang out, go for a walk and clean up the neighbourhood.

KINBURN – Several hundred West Carleton residents dropped by the Kinburn Community Centre Saturday (Nov. 19) afternoon to say so long to retiring Ward 5 city councillor Eli El-Chantiry.

CARP – There wasn’t supposed to be a Remembrance Day service at the West Carleton War Memorial this year.

KANATA – Of 28 Kanata-Carleton residents honoured with the Platinum Jubilee Community Service Award last week (Nov. 7) more than a handful of them call West Carleton home.

CONSTANCE BAY – Something not seen in three years returned to the West Carleton Royal Canadian Legion’s Remembrance Day service last Saturday (Nov. 5) and something rarely seen at any Constance Bay service was present too – warm weather.

KINBURN, FITZROY HARBOUR – Hallowe’en in West Carleton kicked off Saturday (Oct. 29) with the return of two very popular parties from COVID banishment.

GALETTA – For three long years the organizing volunteers, the Galetta Community Association (GCA), the residents and the greater West Carleton community wondered aloud when would the great Galetta Rummage Sale return?

CARP – Three West Carleton Disaster Relief (WCDR) volunteers participated in a FireSmart presentation led by a Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry firefighter who has seen up close and personal how a few simple preventative measures have saved homes from out-of-control wildfires.

CARP – The Cheff Fields Farm cute and fluffy alpacas stole the show at the Carp Farmers’ Market Saturday (Oct. 8).

CITY HALL – Before getting down to city business Wednesday (Oct. 5), Ottawa Mayor Jim Watson and Coun. Eli El-Chantiry took time to honour Carp’s Neil Falls, a man the politicians have labelled a city builder in his community.
