Arrest made in string of night time Break and Enters

OTTAWA – Ottawa police have arrested a man suspected in a string of break and enters, often while the occupants were still in their home.
On Saturday, July 21, at 1 a.m., frontline officers responded to a number of break and enters in the east end of Ottawa. The suspect had committed a recent string of residential break and enters in Gloucester, Pleasant Park and the Mooney’s bay area, often while the occupants were home sleeping.
The suspect was arrested following a short foot pursuit after a member of the public took a photo of the suspicious vehicle in the area of the break-ins and provided it to the police.
Roy LaFleur, 59 of Ottawa, has been charged with breaking and entering, possession of break-in instruments, trespassing and possession of property obtained by crime.
LaFleur attended show cause court this past weekend. More charges may follow.
