Local musicians are standing by, waiting for your calls

A new lineup of music provided by 25 local singers, bands and musicians has been chosen for the latest edition of #ottmusik. Through #ottmusik, first introduced in 2015, anyone waiting on hold after calling the City of Ottawa hears local music while they wait.

Between February 5 and March 12, 158 musicians of all genres submitted music samples for consideration.

A committee of Ottawa-area professional musicians reviewed the submissions and selected 25 entries for use on the City phone systems. The songs first aired on the system today and will remain on the system for one year. Don’t feel like calling in? You can hear the full songs on the #ottmusik page of the City’s website, ottawa.ca.

Since it began, #ottmusik has received more than 400 submissions and showcased 75 local music artists.
