WOCRC hosting Studio Night for teens
Special to WC Online
WEST CARLETON – The Western Ottawa Community Resource Centre (WOCRC) is hosting an eight-week program focused on the arts for youth aged 12 to 18.
The program starts today (Feb. 2) and will be held for the next eight Tuesdays from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
“If you’re a youth between 12 and 18 and looking for some fun and creative activities, why not join us for Studio Nights?” the WOCRC released in a statement.
The program is designed “to inspire youth to create in a comfortable space and introduce them to new art techniques, types of art, and new ways of thinking about art.”
The WOCRC says the program will encourage youth to be comfortable with imperfection, practice self-care, use positive self-talk and engage with the world around them.
Studio Nights will explore sketching, working with clay, painting, photography, calligraphy and bullet journaling.
Interested participants must register in advance and can do so by sending an email to youth@wocrc.ca.
