West Carleton’s Red Trillium Studio Tour blossoms June 6 weekend
Special to WC Online
WEST CARLETON – Did you know that the Red Trillium Studio Tour (RTST) is 28 years old?
That is 28 years of the artists and fine craftspeople of West Carleton sharing their passion with the public by opening their studios to visitors – that sacred space where creation occurs.

It is a personal and more intimate glimpse in to the artist’s world – inviting connection and conversation. Visitors can hear the story of a work of art from the artist, their inspiration and interpretation of the world, and the process by which a piece comes into being.
“Come join us the weekend of June 6 and June 7 to experience for yourself all the Red Trillium Studio Tour has to offer,” RTST co-organizer, Yellow House Studio’s Wendy Clement told West Carleton Online yesterday (May 6). “Come visit the 28 local and guest artists and fine craftspeople located at 13 different studio stops in Dunrobin, Kinburn and Woodlawn. Eight of the artists are new to the tour, as are two of the studios. Most studios have more than one artist, and many offer a variety of different artistic mediums in one location.”
Whether illustration or acrylic or oil painting, clothing and fabric art, pottery, woodworking, fabric sculpture, pyrography, torched glass art and jewellery, flameworked and fused glass, stained glass, silver jewellery, whimsical gnomes, quilting, knitting, woodturning, rug-making, photography and so much more, there is something for everyone who has an appreciation for the time, dedication and passion that it takes to hone one’s craft and create something beautiful to share with others.
“An added benefit – there is no need to rush,” Clement said. “You can do it in a day or make a weekend of it. Visit the studios in order or the ones that are of particular interest. It is entirely up to you on this self-guided tour. All the studios are ready to welcome you.”
More information on the Studio Tour and the participating studios and artists can be found on our website at redtrilliumst.com as well as the downloadable brochure and map. Accessibility information and local places to stop for a bite on the way may also be found there.
“We are proud of our studio tour and our West Carleton community of artists and fine craftspeople,” Clement said. “We would be so pleased to share it with you. We look forward to seeing you at the spring 2026 Red Trillium Studio Tour! Come join us.”
