By Jake Davies - West Carleton Online

WEST CARLETON – Radar shows West Carleton is on the edge of a sever thunder storm alert into the evening, as radar shows heavy rain along the St. Lawrence Seaway.
Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing heavy rain.
An area of thunderstorms north of eastern Lake Ontario is moving very slowly eastward and could give torrential downpours to Eastern Ontario late into this evening. Rainfall amounts in excess of 50 mm are possible.
Fast-moving water across a road can sweep a vehicle away. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads.
Severe thunderstorm watches are issued when atmospheric conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms that could produce one or more of the following: large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall.
