WEST CARLETON – It may still be a bit too early for Christmas, but certainly not for Christmas shopping. West Carleton Online will try to keep track of all the upcoming holiday themed events in West Carleton this Christmas season.

Nov. 10: The 38th Annual Christmas Craft Fair on Nov. 10 at the Kinburn Community Centre. The fair runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Nov. 17: The Fitzroy Harbour Craft Fair, Nov. 17, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Fitzroy Harbour Community Centre. Saturday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. One of a kind items, jams, baked goods, candles, jewelry, home décor, wooden crafts, stocking stuffers and more. Nov. 17: The 4th Annual Carp Christmas Craft Sale. This annual fundraiser for the West Carleton Food Access Centre goes Saturday, Nov. 17 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Carp Agricultural Hall. Vendor spots are already sold out. Lunch will be available for $5. There is also a Secret Santa Shop for kids under 12-years-of age and lots of parking right outside the door.
Nov. 24: Please join us for the Carleton Place and District Memorial Hospital Auxiliary’s Partridge in a Pear Tree Bazaar on Saturday, Nov. 24 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The bazaar takes place at St. James Anglican Church Hall at 225 Edmond St. in Carleton Place.
Soup and sandwiches will be served from 11 a.m. to 1p.m. Enjoy soup, a sandwich and dessert while watching a fashion show. There will also be items from the Auxiliary Gift Shop, a bake table, a white elephant table, a craft table and a Christmas decoration table. And don’t forget the silent auction table, including a ‘Dine Around Town’ gift certificate.
Nov. 30: The Carp Farmers’ Market Christmas Market Friday, Nov. 30, Saturday, Dec. 1 at the Carp Agricultural Society Fairgrounds. Friday, 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The West Carleton Arts Society’s (WCAS) $100 and Under Christmas Arts and Crafts Sale runs all weekend long in Dunrobin. Twenty-five WCAS artists will all be under one roof and everything they have to sell is, as the name suggests, $100 and under. The West Carleton Glee Club will be on hand Saturday for an afternoon of wonderful Christmas music. This it the fourth year for the event and it kicks off on Friday, Nov. 30 from 2 to 8 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at St. Paul’s United Church at 3760 Carp Road.

Dec. 1: The Constance Bay Community Market is pleased to once again partner with the CBBCA to host a Christmas Market on Saturday, Dec. 1 in conjunction with Santa Day in The Bay. The Christmas Market runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., giving visitors time to shop for unique and special gifts with over 30 vendors both before and after the parade and lunch with Santa. As with the outdoor markets, visitors can expect an excellent variety of products and services at the Christmas Market including: delicious preserves, maple syrup, honey & beeswax products, natural soap & body products, photography, an array of practical to whimsical hand-crafted items including jewellery, fabric, yarn, needle & bead crafts, cards and party supplies, painting and woodwork, slime and stress toys, and tie-dye t-shirts. Those looking to satisfy their cravings can choose from Thai food, decadent baking & goodies and fresh roasted coffee. The CBCM’s Christmas Market has something for everyone. Dec. 1: Santa Day in the Bay. Don’t miss the annual CBBCA Constance & Buckham’s Bay Santa Claus Parade; floats gather on Baillie Avenue for a 10 a.m. start. Parade runs along Bayview Avenue to Len Purcell and winds up at the community centre for hots dogs, Santa and hot chocolate. Be sure to check out the Christmas Market & Craft Fair. Be sure to bring your non-perishable food item for the West Carleton Food Bank. Register your float by by filling out this simple form.

Dec. 1: The Carp Cooperative Nursery School Annual Craft and Bake Sale. Dec. 1, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Meet Santa Claus from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. 3774 Carp Rd. (beside the Carp Farmer’s Market). Two floors of exciting bendors offering artisan crafts and beautiful gift items. Maked goods, raffle items, photos with Santa and more. For more information email ccnscraftfair@gmail.com.
Dec. 1: Festive Fair at St. Paul’s United Church, 3760 Carp Road. Saturday, Dec. 1, 9 a.m. to noon. Delicous baking, jas, jellies and preserves, homemade tourtieres, white elephant table, silent auchton, gently used books, clothing and accessories.
Dec. 2: On Sunday, Dec. 2 the Dunrobin Women’s Institute is bringing cheer to the Dunrobin community by lighting the 15-foot Christmas tree, which was planted a year ago on the greenspace at the corner of Dunrobin Rd. and Thomas Dolan Parkway. Tree lighting time is 6: 30 p.m., with goodies and hot chocolate at St. Paul’s Church across the street afterwards.
Dec. 2: The Kinburn Fire Station, Station 61, presents: Breakfast with Santa. Sunday, Dec. 2, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Kinburn Community Centre on the Kinburn Side Road. Fire Station 61 is inviting you to join Santa and his firefighting elves at a delicious breakfast. There will be a silent auction, raffle and more fun including an option to take a photo with Santa. Breakfast options between $5 and $10 and all proceeds go to the fire station association and the Kinburn Community Association to support community events.
Dec. 2: The Legion, Branch 616 Ladies Auxiliary Christmas Bazaar in Constance Bay, Sunday, Dec. 2 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Crafts, jewelry, White Elephant and lots more. Tables $12 each or two for $20. Call the branch at 832-2082 to reserve your spot and arrange payment. Doors open for vendors at 7 a.m.
Dec. 4: Galetta’s annual Cookie Exchange is Wednesday, Dec. 4 at the Galetta Community Hall. You bring 50 cookies and/or 50 squares to share and you go home with a whole bunch of different treats made by other cookie exchangers. It’s a great way to get a head start on your winter weight gain (for warmth) and organizers recommend you wear your best Christmas gear. There will be judges and prizes. Dec. 8: The 2018 Annual Carp Christmas Parade hosted by the Huntley Community Association. Saturday, Dec. 8 starting at 12 p.m. The parade will begin at the Diefenbunker, then follow Carp Road, turning left on Donald B. Munro, left onto Langstaff Drive, left onto Juanita Street, right on Carp Road and finishing at the Diefenbunker. Road closures will be in effect.

Dec. 8: Christmas Craft Tornado Relief Fundraiser. Saturday, Dec. 8 at St. Isidore Catholic School, 1105 March Rd. 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Lots of vendors, raffle draws and a kids’ corner. Admission is $2 or a non-perishable food item for the Kanata Food Cupboard.
