WOCRC brings back The Zone, virtually
Special to WC Online
DUNROBIN – The Western Ottawa Community Resource Centre (WOCRC) is bringing The Zone back, this time the youth drop-in centre is virtual.
The WOCRC’s Zone was a drop-in centre for youth aged 12 to 18 to socialize and get connected to resources. Obviously, it can’t run during the pandemic, but organizers have brought the idea back virtually.
“The Zone is back,” West Carleton Hight School staff released in a statement Feb. 5. “Hosted by the amazing Sozanne Abdillahi. from the WOCRC, join The Zone to meet new people, socialize, talk about hobbies, goals, self-care, stress coping strategies, play virtual games and activities.”
“The Zone is a unique space just for youth aged 12-18 to meet new people and try new activities,” the WOCRC released in a statement. “Youth and their families can get connected to community resources and services.”
The Zone West Carleton runs online on Wednesdays from 2:30-3:30 p.m.
