WCOHL extends registration to end of this week

WEST CARLETON – With the West Carleton Outdoor Hockey League (WCOHL) still waiting for winter weather, volunteer convenors have extended the registration period to the end of this week (Jan. 7).

“Happy 2024,” WCOHL convenor Kimberley Behnan released in a statement today (Jan. 2). “Here’s a quick update with both good and not-so-good news. Unfortunately, we still don’t have rinks ready to kick off our ODR season. We’re keeping our fingers crossed for a launch on Jan. 13. On a positive note, if you missed the chance to register over the holidays, we’ve got you covered.”

The ODR registration deadline has been extended until the end of the week.

“However, it’s crucial to note that we’re facing shortages in certain age brackets across all communities (Fitzroy Harbour, Constance Bay, Dunrobin and Carp),” Behnan said. “This means there will be some consolidation of centres to create teams. This could pose challenges for the convenience of practicing in your local rink, as rotations may be necessary. Hopefully more will register so we can work through these logistics. So, share and tell all your friends.”
