Thirteen arrested following two-day John Sweep

OTTAWA – Frontline officers conducted a two-day John Sweep in the Montreal Road and Lafontaine Avenue on Aug. 1 and 2.
The enforcement stems from community and business concerns about ongoing prostitution and males soliciting for that purpose in residential neighbourhoods. Ottawa Police say.
A total of 13 arrests were made resulting in seven criminal charges. Several of those arrested qualified for the John School Pre-Charge Diversion Program.
Additionally, another man and a woman were arrested for outstanding warrants and two men were charged with criminal offences unrelated to prostitution.
