Teen drowns at Logos Land Monday afternoon

RENFREW COUNTY – A tragic accident at a well-known water park near Cobden has left an 18-year-old teenager dead.

The young woman drowned while swimming with her family at Logos Land on a sweltering Monday afternoon.

Ontario Provincial Police say the woman was swimming in the small lake when she failed to surface. Logos Land lifeguards were unable to find the victim. The OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit was called in to located the victim.

 OPP constable Janice Sawbridge said that the body has not yet been recovered but police are treating it as a drowning.

Logos Land Resort will be closed to the public until the investigation is complete.
