Team Canada women’s fast pitch coming to Carp June 21

CARP – Canada’s national women’s softball team is coming to Carp for an intra-squad game in the lead up to the Pan American championship and your invited to the show.
Canada’s best female fastball players will be at the Carp Fairgrounds ball diamonds (3790 Carp Rd. – behind the Huntley Community Centre) on Saturday, June 21 for a 4:30 p.m. intra-squad game as the team gears up for three major tournaments including the 2025 WBSC Americas Women’s Pan American Championship from June 25 to July 5 in Monteria, CO, the 2025 Canada Cup July 7 to July 13 in Surrey, BC, and the 2025 World Games – Women’s Softball from Aug. 13 to Aug. 17 in Chengdu, China.
The Carp Fastball committee is pleased to host Team Canada and is inviting the community to come to the game for free.
“Another exciting event coming your way from the Carp Fastball committee,” the non-profit volunteer organization released in a statement June 3. “Saturday June 21, we are proud to host the Canadian Women’s National Softball Team at 4:30 p.m. at the Carp ball diamonds at the Carp Fairgrounds. Bring the family and see world class players. Best part is free admission for this event.”
And meet them after the game as the committee hosts an official meet-and-greet.
Carp Fastball will host a barbecue and drinks available to purchase. There will also be a 50/50 draw in support of the committee.
Ranked fifth in the WBSC Women’s Softball World Rankings, Team Canada secured their spot in the World Cup Finals after an impressive second-place finish at the 2023 WBSC Women’s Softball World Cup Group C tournament held in Buttrio and Castions di Strada, Italy.
“I am very excited about this year’s team,” Team Canada head coach Kaleigh Rafter said. “We have a great mix of veteran and younger athletes just starting their journey with this team. This was one of the most competitive camps we have had in my tenure, and I look forward to seeing them represent Canada at this year’s world championships.”
