CARP – The volunteer chair of the Village of Carp Business Improvement Area (BIA) stepped down from her role Friday (May 31) after seven “influential years.”
Jen Stewart, a Carp resident who also operates her influential media and communications company Syntax Strategic from the village, stepped down officially May 31 but will continue on as a member of the BIA board.
“After seven influential years as the chair of the Village of Carp BIA, Jen will be stepping down effective immediately,” BIA board member Devon Larock told West Carleton Online on May 31. “Her tenure has been nothing short of remarkable, marked by significant achievements and unwavering dedication. Jen’s leadership has greatly contributed to the growth and success of our community, and her impact will be felt for years to come.”
Some of the major BIA accomplishments on the long list under Stewart’s leadership include last fall’s BIA Harvest Supper featuring an incredible meal with beverages, grown and produced in the Ward 5 community; the recent Carp Memorial Hall mural; two new village entrance signs; the installation of flags and banners along Carp Road through the village; the Light up the Village campaign; the Carp Villager quarterly publication; and the Carp Visitor’s Guide.
The Carp BIA has already replaced the position with Carp’s Lisa Kyte and Greg LeBlanc stepping in to the co-chairs position.
“Their combined expertise and enthusiasm will ensure that the BIA continues to thrive and build on the strong foundation that Jen has helped to establish,” Larock said.
