RENFREW COUNTY – A multi-vehicle crash caused a massive slow-down near Renferw on the last day of the long weekend (Aug. 6)
At least seven vehicles were reported to have gone bumper-through-bumper in a chain-reaction collision early Monday afternoon.
The collision occurred just east of the bridge over the Bonnechere River outside of Renfrew. No serious injuries were reported but two motorists were taken to Renfrew Victoria Hospital for further examination.
Due to construction on Renfrew’s main street, there was no easy detour available. Traffic on the highway was reduced to one lane causing a massive back-up on a busy day as motorists returned from their long-weekend festivities.
