Keith Williamson
Keith Williamson,
June 19, 1956 – April 14, 2025
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Keith Williamson, on Monday, April 14, 2025, at the age of 68.
Much loved father of Joanne Provost (Todd), Vancouver Island, BC. Fondly remembered by his wife, Sylvia Williamson, Vancouver Island, BC. Cherished brother of Sandra Howarth (Jeff) of Stalybridge, England. Beloved son of the late Joan Williamson and the late Eric Williamson, Ashton-Under-Lyne, England. Dear friend of Troy and Sue Rachwalski, Arnprior, and honorary “Uncle” to the Rachwalski family. A very special thank you to Julie David who took such great care of Keith and understood “his ways.” His family also want to thank Tracy and the medical staff at the West Carleton Family Health Team. Keith’s memory will always be cherished by his nieces, nephews, extended family, and all of his friends in Canada and the U.K.
The family offers thanks for his second family of soccer players and fishing buddies from the Kinburn, West Carleton and Ottawa Valley areas.
Keith was born in Ashton-Under-Lyne, Lancashire, England. He emigrated to Canada with his wife, Sylvia, and daughter, Joanne, in 1981, where he continued his career in the tool and die trade. Keith soon became a volunteer with the community of West Carleton as a fire fighter for five years. He was part of the founding of the West Carleton Soccer Association, serving terms on committees and as the President. The fundraising efforts of the association for the community were much appreciated.
He was both a player and coach in the West Carleton area for close to 35 years until medical issues restricted these activities. His support for local soccer never waned. He could still be found cheering on his beloved team, The Fitzroy Harbour Soccer Club, at local football pitches. He was a lifelong Manchester City supporter, fan of everything football (soccer) and many other sports, and an enthusiastic television, film and food critic for his family and friends.
At Keith’s request, no formal service will be held. A Celebration of Keith’s Life will be held at a later date, and a pint will be raised in his honour. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to a charity of your choice are appreciated. Cremation services by Simple Choice Cremation Ottawa, 613-692-5353.
