Derrick Thomas Thompson, 

May 14,1993 – June 30, 2021 (age 28)

Taken away, way too soon, he was a husband, son, brother, son-in-law, brother-in-law, family member and friend.

Derrick will be sadly missed by his wife Lisa Thompson (nee White), his parents David and Joy Thompson, dear brother to Rachel Thompson (Matt Roberts) and son-in-law to David (Diane) White, brother-in-law to Taylor White (Gillian Webster) and godfather to Cara Hailie White. Derrick was a very hard worker and loved his job as a Gas Fitter. He looked forward to spending time with his family and friends and to play with his dogs Lexi and Lincoln.

But his greatest joy in life was being a husband and best friend to the love of his life, Lisa. He was looking forward to their future and was so excited on becoming a new Daddy. Those who knew Derrick, even just a little, lost a shining light in their lives.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during a drive-thru visitation on Friday, July 9, 2021 from 11 am to 1:30 pm at the Carp Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 115 Rivington St, Carp. A Private family graveside service will be held at St. James Anglican Cemetery in Carp. For those who wish, please consider a memorial donation in Derrick’s memory to the Ottawa Humane Society.
