Cynthia De Baie

February 25, 1975 – November 7, 2018 RIP

Cynthia Dawn Shannon De Baie, age 43, of Ottawa, passed away on November 7, 2018 at the General Hospital ICU after many complications due to prolonged kidney disease. 

A celebration of Cynthia’s life will take place on Saturday, November 10th, 2018, from 12:00 noon – 1:00 p.m. in the small chapel at St. Mary’s Catholic Church 28 Hawthorne Ave, Carleton Place, Ontario. This will be followed by a Mass in the church at 1:00 p.m. After mass a small luncheon will be offered by the Knights of Columbus. 

Cynthia was born in Verdun, Que. to Ron and Martha De Baie (nee Leggo) on February 25, 1975. She graduated from Lasalle Catholic High. She graduated from We Care with a PSW certificate and worked as a PSW for 5 years. She was a volunteer at the Royal Ottawa in the library for more than 5 years. She supported the “Alive to Strive” race group committed to supporting those living with chronic kidney diseases. She received many awards for volunteering. 

Cynthia is survived by her broken-hearted parents Ron and Martha, her loving older brother Jamie, (Chantal) her beloved nephews and niece, Jamie Jr., Keaton, Eva. (Sara, Adam), her favorite Aunty Mona (Diane), cousins Shayne, Shannon, very good close friends April, Nancy and many other friends. The family of Cynthia wish to extend our sincere thanks to the doctors and nurses of the Ottawa Heart Institute and The Ottawa General Hospital ICU. 

In Lieu of flowers please make donations to the Kidney Foundation of Canada in memory of Cynthia.
