O-Train Line 1 replaced by bus service May 31 to June 3
Special to WC Online
OTTAWA – O-Train Line 1 will close temporarily and be replaced by R1 bus service from Sunday, May 31 to Wednesday, June 3.
Line 1 will reopen on Thursday, June 4.
“This closure will allow Rideau Transit Group to test updated software and do infrastructure and maintenance work as they continue to address issues that have impacted service,” Ottawa city staff released in a statement today (May 26). “The city is allowing them to complete this work while ridership is low due to the COVID-19 pandemic.”
R1 bus service will operate frequently so there will be enough space for physical distancing.
Entrances to most Line 1 stations will be closed and customers will only have access to R1 bus stops. O-Train ambassadors will be outside Line 1 stations to direct customers to R1 bus stops.
