PONTIAC VALLEY – Quebec may become an investor in a grow-op near Litchfield.

According to the president of LiveWell Canada, discussions are underway with two Quebec government departments (the Ministère de l’Économie, de la Science et de l’Innovation of Québec and Investissement Québec) which will have Qubec City contribute up to 25 per cent of project financing. LiveWell wants to do pot-byproduct studies into cannabidiol and other cannabinoids in its world-class Research and Innovation Centre in Litchfield.

LiveWell President David Rendimonti says his firm hopes to market therapeutic and medical solutions, prescription medicines and consumer health products that would be developed at the site.

The company has a 1.5 million square feet greenhouses under construction in both Ontario and Quebec.
Academic and business partners include Canopy Growth and Canopy Rivers.
