Letter: Former councillor El-Chantiry endorses Ward 5 candidate Harrison
Letter to the Editor
To the Editor,
For nearly 19 years, I had the privilege of serving the residents of West Carleton-March as your city councillor.
During that time, I learned effective leadership is about much more than casting votes at City Hall. It is about listening, building relationships, working respectfully with others and always putting the community first.
That is why I am proud to endorse Christine Harrison as our next city councillor for Ward 5.
Christine embodies the qualities our community needs in its next leader. She is a person of integrity, guided by strong values and a genuine commitment to serving others. She has raised her family here in West Carleton-March; built a successful business; volunteered tirelessly in our community; and earned the respect of those who know her. She understands our rural communities because she has lived them.
Leadership matters. Our community deserves representation that is thoughtful, mature, collaborative and focused on bringing people together. We need someone who can work constructively with residents, community organizations, city staff, and fellow members of council to achieve meaningful results for Ward 5.
Christine has demonstrated throughout her life that she is a builder – not someone who divides people, but someone who unites them around common goals. She listens. She cares deeply about our community. She is committed to strengthening the connections that make West Carleton-March such a special place to live, work and raise a family.
I have every confidence that Christine will represent Ward 5 with professionalism, respect and dedication. She has the experience, the character and the leadership our community deserves.
I encourage the residents of West Carleton-March to support Christine Harrison for city councillor. I know she will work every day to make our community stronger, more connected, and better represented at City Hall.
Sincerely,
Eli El-Chantiry,
Former City Councillor, Ward 5 – West Carleton-March (2003–2022).
