Letter: A big thanks from the Rivermen

To the Editor,

Yesterday, it was announced that the West Carleton Rivermen were voted the top management in the EOSHL.

We are very honoured to have been voted this by our peers, however it takes far more than just the coaching staff, management and ownership to make things run smoothly. There is absolutely no way that we could have done this without so many great people chipping in on and off the ice.

As such, we would like to take a second to thank each and every one of the people who were involved in making our first season a success.

To begin, we would like to thank every player who put on a Rivermen jersey this year. It was an honour having each and every one of you on the roster and the sacrifices and hard work you exhibited were paramount to our success.

Next, we would like to say a huge thank you to our leadership group, including Assistant Coach Cody Waite, Business Manager Basem Awwad, Trainer and Game Day Operations Manager Aaron Don and our Captain Dave Nelson. From the beginning, we stuck together as a team and made the Rivermen into something we are incredibly proud of. We couldn’t imagine doing this with any other group of guys.

As well, we would like to thank all of our sponsors who supported us this season and allowed us to get onto the ice to play hockey. In no particular order, those include the Kinburn Business Park, Skypyre Studios, Ian Moyes Royal Lepage Team Realty, West Carleton Online, Magnum Roofing, Dave Stathos Goalie Performance Center, ProMotion Videos, the West Carleton Amateur Sportsclub, Adcor Technical Solutions and Digital Interiors.

Furthermore, we would like to thank our game day volunteers, the people that made everything run smoothly. Without getting into specifics regarding roles, we’d like to recognize John Helps, Joe Rhodes, Fred Gillard, Stefania Cinciripini, Ettore Cinciripini, Doug Twinning, Liz Rheaume, Tyson Moyes, Ian Moyes, Jann Macdonald, Ashley Moyes, Leslie Sadler and Kailey Don.

In addition, we would like to thank Tony, who runs the Canteen at the arena, thank you very much for keeping the boys fed with your delicious pizza after every single home game.
We would also like to thank Evelyn Noffke, Ryan Caron and all of the Sensplex crew for helping us with our requests all season long.

Finally, we would like to thank the fans of the West Carleton Rivermen. Your support is greatly appreciated and it validated all of the hard work we have put in this year.

So on behalf of both of us, we want to express our gratitude to everyone that supported us, and we absolutely cannot wait to get back onto the ice next season in front of the best fans in the EOSHL.
