Kinburn Spring Home Show seeking local vendors

By Jake Davies - West Carleton Online

KINBURN – Let the West Carleton community know there are lots of great, creative contractors in the community that can bring your home renovation project to life.

Currently, event organizer and West Carleton Household Services owner-operator Shannon Spallin is putting out the call for vendors in the home contracting and service industry. The spring home show is scheduled for Saturday, April 5, and Spallin hopes to show off all the amazing local businesses that can help home and property owners finish their dream project or finally get that repair job completed.

The event will be held at the Kinburn Community Centre (3045 Kinburn Side Rd.) where the large hall is fully accessible and there is lots of free parking. The community centre is well known for hosting vendor shows such as the annual Kinburn Christmas Craft Market.

“There will be 15 spaces (10 by 10 feet or three by three metres) which will be ideally filled with local to West Carleton trades people,” Spallin released in a statement. “Plumbers, electricians, landscapers, deck builders, carpenters, general contractors, painters and designers.”

Spallin told West Carleton Online the idea is there are lots of great contractors in the community, but it is a challenge for them to share their talents with the local community.

“I hear quite a bit in my business that it’s very difficult to get good trades to work in West Carleton,” Spallin, whose small jobs business West Carleton Household Services operates out of the community. “It’s often too far out and will charge a premium to cover gas and mileage. I’d love for homeowners to be able to connect with reputable, reliable, local trades. We have a number of fantastic trades right in our backyard.”

If you are interested in being a vendor, you can ask for a vendor application form at rentals@kinburn.ca. The deadline to submit a form is Feb. 28.
