Kinburn ODR now open

KINBURN – It took a bit, but thanks to some cold weather, the Kinburn outdoor rink is ready to go.
Yesterday, West Carleton Online reported the Kinburn rink, located at the Kinburn Community Centre (3045 Kinburn Side Rd.) was not quite ready to go. What a difference a day makes.
“Good news, Kinburn the ice is ready – yellow flag, a few rough patches but ready to use,” the Kinburn Community Association (KCA) released in a statement yesterday (Jan. 11). “Hopefully we will be able to have the green flag up in no time.”
COVID-19 means there are some special regulations ongoing for those looking to enjoy the rink.
“At the present time all our indoor facilities have been closed to the public due to the COVID-19 pandemic,” the KCA said.
Only 25 people can be on the ice surface at one time. Two metres distance is to be maintained between skaters at all times.
“Masks must be worn by everyone while in the bench/viewing areas,” the KCA said. “Masks are not required while on the ice surface. Absolutely no alcohol is permitted on the premises, indoor or out. Likewise, smoking is not permitted on site.”
At this point, all West Carleton’s outdoor rinks are now open. Schedules are posted
