Influenza outbreak declared at The Grove

ARNPRIOR – Renfrew County’s health leaders have declared an influenza outbreak at the Grove Nursing Home in Arnprior.

“The Renfrew County and District Health Unit (RCDHU) has declared an influenza outbreak in The Grove’s Maple Home Area,” Arnprior Regional Health (ARH) communications manager Melissa McDermott released in a statement yesterday (Feb. 7). “Currently, the outbreak is limited to the Maple Home Area, with two confirmed cases.”

Based on RCDHU recommendations, The Grove has asked friends and family of Maple residents to postpone their visits if possible.

“In addition, any visitors to the Maple Home Area must follow outbreak protocols,” McDermott said. “Visiting practices for the Pine and Oak Home Areas have not been impacted.”
