Harbour’s Bethel-St. Andrew’s hosting Shrove Tuesday pancakes

FITZROY HARBOUR – Pancakes for supper is a once-a-year delicacy, and that once is Tuesday, Feb. 21 at Bethel-St. Andrew’s Untied Church (184 Jack Lougheed way).
With COVID-19 on the decline, and health regulations surrounding the pandemic gone, the traditional Shrove Tuesday dinner returns to the community.
“Shrove Tuesday is the day immediately preceding Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent, which is celebrated by consuming pancakes,” church volunteer organizer Walter Veenstra released in a statement today (Feb. 9). “This year, per tradition, we will have pancakes and sausages from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 21 at Bethel-St. Andrew’s United Church in Fitzroy Harbour. This is a free will offering meal. All are welcome. Tell a friend, bring a friend.”
The last time West Carleton Online was able to enjoy a Shrove Tuesday pancake dinner was in 2020, when we visited not one, not two, but three different pancake suppers and you can read that story here.
