Handgun seized in shooting investigation

OTTAWA – Two men have been arrested and a loaded 9 mm handgun was seized during a shooting investigation this weekend.
On Saturday, Aug. 4 at approximately 10 a.m. officers were called to the south end after reports of a man firing shots into a residence on Heatherington Road. The suspect fled the scene in a vehicle. Officers attended and found shell casings and numerous bullet holes in the windows and walls of a residential unit. No injuries were reported.
On Sunday morning at approximately 1 a.m., PiVOT officers located a vehicle believed to have been involved in the shooting. A search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of a loaded 9 mm handgun. Two men were arrested. Weapons charges are expected and the investigation continues.
