Eagle Creek, Morris Island closed due to storm damage

WEST CARLETON – Two of West Carleton’s premier spring destinations are temporary closed as a result of damage from Saturday’s (May 21) storm.
Eagle Creek Golf Club in Dunrobin, one of the premier courses in all of Ottawa, has temporary closed as staff work furiously to recover from multiple fallen trees and the damage to the course those fallen trees caused.
“The golf course will be closed today (May 22) and tomorrow (May 23) due to the storm and damages,” club staff released in a statement Sunday (May 22). “We will keep you posted. Our team has been out all morning trying to clean up the damage.”
Yesterday (May 23), the Mississippi Valley Conservation Authority (MVCA) officially closed the Morris Island Conservation Area in Vydon Acres due to safety.
“Downed power lines at Morris Island Conservation Area have closed the site until further notice,” the MVCA released in a statement. ‘Morris Island Conservation Area will be closed until further notice due to damage from Saturday’s severe storm. Please continue to use caution at our other conservation areas as trails and roads may be affected by fallen debris. Thank you for your patience”
