Dunrobin fashion show a WCFAC fundraiser
Special to WC Online
DUNROBIN – The Dunrobin Community Association (DCA) Fashion Show returns this Saturday (June 18) for its third event, this time a fundraiser for the West Carleton Food Access Centre (WCFAC).
The DCA’s young adults program hosted the event in 2021 and 2019, cancelling the 2020 show due to COVID-19.
With the help of stylist and operator of West Carleton’s Sassy Seconds’ Vera Jones, program participants walk the catwalk in some of the upcoming summer’s hottest trends while an emcee walks the guests through the looks.
“I really enjoyed it,” Jones, who had a front row seat, told West Carleton Online after last year’s show. “It was really nice to see the clothes recycled and the models having so much fun. I didn’t really do anything. I just stood there, it was a real community effort and very nice to see this all come together.”
This year’s show will be held Saturday, June 18 starting at 1:45 p.m. at the Dunrobin Community Centre (1151 Thomas A. Dolan Pkwy.).
“You are invited to cheer on our community who demonstrate diversity and inclusion in fashion,” organizers released in a statement.
The event is free but donations of food and/or money will be accepted on behalf of the WCFAC.
