CBCM’s August Cheer Boxes are here

CONSTANCE BAY – Round four of the popular Constance Bay Community Market (CBCM) Cheer Boxes are ready to order.

One of the ways the CBCM has pivoted during the pandemic is by boxing up some of the best items their vendors have and selling them to the community in the form of Cheer Boxes. They have had one for Mothers Day, Fathers Day and July and now its time to debut the August edition.

“We’re super excited about this month’s Cheer Box — we think it’s awesome, and we’re pretty sure you’ll agree,” CBCM market manager Cindy Pratt released in a statement today (Aug. 12). “Our previous three boxes sold out quickly, so this is your best chance to make sure you get one.”

With the heat here, the CBCM’s August Cher Box is focusing on summer and Pratt has your itinerary all laid out.

“August’s box will delight your taste buds and bring a summery feel to your home,” Pratt said. “Start your day with tea biscuits smothered in sweet blueberry jam while savouring the full aroma and taste of Barking Barista’s freshly roasted coffee. Use the pickled peppers to spice up your lunch or dinner – they’re great with BBQ, on pizza or even in salad. Display the banana mini-cake with maple icing on the beautiful wood trivet before enjoying it for dessert. After dinner, light one of the beeswax tealights in your enchanting birch wood candle holder while sipping some fruity hibiscus lemongrass tea to relax and wind down. The liquid hand soap is a great way to keep your hands fresh and clean any time. We know these products will bring you and your family joy during the final weeks of summer. And, you can feel extra good knowing that your purchase has helped support your community market, local business owners and our canine friends.”

Boxes are $60 each and will be ready for pick-up on Saturday, Aug. 22 between 11a.m. and 1p.m. at 205 Bayview Dr. (St. Gabriel’s Parish) in Constance Bay.

Last month, the CBCM added add-ons to their Cheer Boxes – ways shoppers could modify their gift packs with a few little extras for a few extra shekels.

“Our add-on selections were extremely popular last month, so this month we’re offering an even bigger selection of products,” Pratt said. “We’re excited for you to see what our amazing vendors are baking and creating for you. For August’s box, you can choose to add any or all of the featured products and your add-ons will be in your Cheer Box when you pick up.”

The CBCM will also be bringing back the Grab and Go Mini-Market Aug. 22. In July Limestone Acres had a selection of fresh produce to choose from for those who dropped by. The market will expand this month.

“We’ll be hosting another Grab and Go Mini-Market from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. during Cheer Box pick-up,” Pratt said. “These markets feature a small number of agricultural vendors offering fresh, local produce for you to purchase.”

The CBCM will have COVID-19 protocols in place.

“In COVID-19 style, come prepared to wear a mask and stay two metres away from other customers,” Pratt said. “We’ve been missing you, and as much as we’d love to spend time chatting and catching up, we ask that you select your produce, pay and head home so that we can serve as many customers as possible during the short time we will be open. We promise to spend much more time socializing when it’s safer to do so.”
