FITZROY HARBOUR – A rarity in the village of Fitzroy Harbour, last Saturday (Nov. 25) the community hosted two holiday markets on the same day, giving shoppers an opportunity to make a day of it.

KANATA – A full house showed up to play, but it wasn’t cards, it was Black Tie Bingo in the ballroom at the Brookstreet Hotel.

KINBURN – Enjoy the most important meal of the day with the most important person of the season, as the Kinburn Community Association (KCA) hosts Brunch with Santa, Sunday, Dec. 3.

FITZROY HARBOUR – Santa will kick off the first in back-to-back weekend visits to Fitzroy Harbour Dec. 2 as the guest of honour for the Fitzroy Harbour Children’s Christmas Party.

DUNROBIN – Earlier this month (Nov. 4 and 5), the Kanata Art Club (KAC) $200 and under sale returned after a three-year hiatus.

CONSTANCE BAY – They say tragedy plus time equals comedy, and on Nov. 14 we will see if a play that takes place in a funeral home’s viewing room is too soon, as the Rural Root Theatre Company’s (RRTC) next production takes over El-Chantiry Hall this week.

DUNROBIN – Launched the year before a devastating tornado destroyed Dunrobin, the Dunrobin and District Women’s Institute’s (WI) annual tree lighting ceremony continues to shine a light on the community’s bond and its resilience.

CARP – What had grown in to one of west Ottawa’s largest Remembrance Day service, then almost dismantled by the pandemic, returns to Carp Saturday, Nov. 11 with new organizers who have a personal connection to the somber annual ceremony.

CARP – For the first time in the Diefenbunker’s Artist-in-Residence program history, the art created is an audio masterpiece, as opposed to the usual visual pieces presented.

WEST CARLETON – On the Oct. 14 weekend in West Carleton, all roads led to an amazing selection of artist studios open to the public.
