OTTAWA – Ottawa fair season kicks off this weekend in Ottawa’s east end with the Navan Fair pitching its tent; the start of the most wonderful time of year culminating in Carp the third weekend of September (although there might be one more fair after that).

DUNROBIN – In West Carleton, first comes the corn, followed closely behind by the community’s corn-themed events.

 CARP – The horses are already arriving in anticipation of the Eastern Ontario Quarter Horse Association (EOQHA) annual summer show. 

KINBURN – Kinburn’s popular craft and gift fair will return for a 42nd year on Saturday, Nov. 9.

CONSTANCE BAY – The Rural Root Theatre Company (RRTC) is holding auditions in just a couple of weeks and now they are gathering a behind-the-scenes crew.

DUNROBIN – Part fashion show, part fundraiser, all confidence builder.

GALETTA – It was an afternoon of music and stories in the Farmgate Cider barn as Newfoundland musician Sherman Downey shared both during a matinee performance last Saturday (June 22).

WEST CARLETON – We lost a couple great West Carleton Canada Day events due to COVID-19 and construction over the last couple of years, but as always there’s plenty to do in the neighbourhood if you want to celebrate Canada’s birthday locally.

FITZROY HARBOUR – Harbour days, Harbour nights, it’s fun all weekend long during the Fitzroy Harbour Community Association’s (FHCA) popular summer festival.

CARP – The weather cooperated, and a handful of landscape artists found quiet spots on Hidden Lake Saturday (June 15) to enjoy the solitude of painting in a beautiful location with like-minded artists.
